The Frank Marocco Cassette Series

L.A. '84 (see tape contents below)
"Since true jazz accordion is so rarely recorded today, this is an album that definitely should be heard.  First of all, it is a marvel the way Frank expresses himself, playing great jazz lines with his right hand while keeping a moving, uninterrupted bass line going with his left.  he does it so smoothly and imaginatively that the casual listener may think they are hearing a quartet instead of a trio.  This is accomplished without overdubbing or recording gimmicks of any kind.  The independence of the hands is truly a remarkable achievement and one that Frank has worked hard to develop.  Frank's style of playing makes the accordion no longer a right hand only instrument.
...
The enthusiasm and jazz feel really comes across on this album and should go a long way in restoring dignity to the accordion as a jazz instrument."
