| Description:
Serenade is a very attractive little piece written by Henry Doktorski in an accessible but unique tonal style, with lots of creative twists and harmonic movement. This piece has been written for several instrumental combinations. One version from 1993 is for two wind instruments, harp (or piano) and string bass, and is written for Gretchen Van Hoesen (principal harpist for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra) and James Gorton (PSO oboist). This version was recorded on Alanna Records (ACD5559) and Boston Records (BR1015CD). The version we have here is arranged for free bass accordion
(or two accordions, right hand) and piano (or harp). This piece is one
of the most requested and most popular from Henry's Christmas CD
