Torna a Sorrento (or Return To Sorrento), arranged by Joseph Natoli, is a tune that has been around for a long time and has been arranged by many noted accordionists, most predominantly Charles Magnante. Joe Natoli submits this version which tries to stay as harmonically interesting as Charles Magnante's attempt, but takes it down a notch in difficulty. "I was trying to create an arrangement of this well-known Italian melody for my father, who loved the song, but had never really been able to master the more difficult Magnante version. So this arrangement is just below Medium level difficulty, but I believe still remains interesting because of some of the harmonic and contrapuntal movement. I am hoping that not only my father, but many other accordionists who are not at virtuoso level, would find this arrangement of Sorrento much more accessible than some of the others. It is a beautiful Italian melody." |
