With Echoes of Europe,Peter
Piccini departs from his jazz routes to show off his well-rounded talents
as arranger and performer in a great collection of polkas, tangos, waltzes
and other styles that are very authentic yet totally original and fresh.
This CD is a wonderful tribute to Peter's father, Peter Piccini, Sr. who
composed all of the included selections and is one of those CDs accordionists
everywhere will be thankful to have in their collection. To quote Peter,
"Echoes of Europe is an
LP recording made in 1980 that my Dad composed all the music on his 80th
birthday. He produced this recording and I did the arrangements and played
the accordion. Then I decided to re-master it onto CD. By the way, on this
recording, I played on a 940 Excelsior made in Italy."
It was recorded in 2000 and has some great moments of overdubbing
as well. The engineering by CLP Productions in Booragoon, Western
Australia is excellent, achieving a very complimentary accordion sound
