| Description:
JANPress considers the St. Petersburg Musette Ensemble another one of our great "discoveries" for the year 2000. Boulevards of Paris and La Plaza de Granada are, simply put, fantastic displays of imagination and technical prowess. If you haven't heard this group before, you are in for an amazing treat. Russian accordionists have always been known for achieving technical passages on their bayans and button accordions that seem to be unequaled anywhere else in the world. These CDs are no disappointments from that perspective. What is even more amazing however is that the group's leader, Vladimir Ushakov, plays a piano accordion, and his technical passages are every bit as flawless and well executed as the button accordionist on the CD, Sergei Likhachov. You've got to hear these CDs. You won't believe your ears! |
